Proyecto expositivo: Imaginación y Futuro

El próximo año tengo programadas dos exposiciones en torno a una temática que, cada vez más, interpela mi existencia y mi trabajo artístico. Uno de los ejes fundamentales que orientan este proyecto expositivo es la crisis de imaginación que atraviesa nuestro tiempo. Esta crisis, alimentada por las estructuras narrativas heredadas del pasado, ha contribuido a clausurar la posibilidad de imaginar futuros alternativos.

En este sentido, la incertidumbre respecto del porvenir —y las condiciones mismas de posibilidad de un futuro— constituyen preocupaciones centrales. Estas inquietudes han sido ampliamente discutidas por pensadores contemporáneos que advierten sobre un fenómeno más amplio: la creciente incapacidad de imaginar más allá de los límites del presente. Ambos elementos —la incertidumbre y la falta de imaginación— se vinculan estrechamente con el campo de la ficción, y en particular con aquella vertiente de la ciencia ficción que explora lo filosófico.

Apoyo e inversión

Con el fin de llevar a cabo este proyecto, estoy buscando apoyo e inversión para cubrir los costos de producción, logística y desplazamiento. Existen distintas formas de colaborar:

Encargar una obra nueva, creada especialmente para esta iniciativa.
Adquirir una pieza de mi colección personal.
Comprar una obra destinada a las exposiciones, que será entregada una vez concluidos los montajes.

Una de las exposiciones se realizará en Abra Espacio, un espacio independiente en Costa Rica, y la otra en MAGMA Galleries, en Melbourne, Australia. Los fondos recaudados se destinarán a la producción de las obras, el transporte, los boletos aéreos y el alojamiento durante mi residencia de un mes en Melbourne.

Exhibition Project: Imagination and the Future

Next year, I will present two exhibitions that address a theme that increasingly challenges both my existence and my artistic practice. One of the central axes guiding this project is the crisis of imagination that defines our time. This crisis, nourished by the narrative structures inherited from the past, has contributed to closing off the possibility of imagining alternative futures.

In this sense, uncertainty about the future—and the very conditions that make a future possible—constitute central concerns. These questions have been widely discussed by contemporary thinkers who warn of a broader phenomenon: the growing inability to imagine beyond the limits of the present. Both elements—uncertainty and the lack of imagination—are closely tied to the field of fiction, and in particular, to that strand of philosophical science fiction that explores speculative and existential ideas.

Support and Investment

To carry out this project, I am seeking support and investment to cover production, logistics, and travel costs. There are several ways to collaborate:

Commissioning a new artwork, created specifically for this initiative.
Acquiring a piece from my personal collection.
Purchasing an artwork conceived for these exhibitions, which will be delivered once the exhibitions have concluded.

One exhibition will take place at Abra Espacio, an independent art space in Costa Rica, and the other at MAGMA Galleries in Melbourne, Australia. The funds raised will go toward the production of artworks, shipping, flights, accommodation, and production costs during my one-month stay in Melbourne.
